Sairupa
Krishnamurti
Sairupa has been surrounded by bhajans (devotional songs)
and Sanskrit mantras (chants) from even before she had left
her mothers womb. Her love of sound and prayer grew into her
study of yoga and a journey into the mind-body connection.
From the beginning of her exploration of yoga, Sairupa noticed
changes in her mental-alertness, confidence and mood. This
was within only a couple of months of first moving her body
into a triangle shape (trikonasana)! She feels blessed to
now be teaching the joy of yoga to others. Sairupa is also
a multi-disciplined artist, passionate about using art and
creativity as tools for social change. Currently, Sairupa
is studying Early Childhood Education to work creatively with
children and families.
Sairupa's yoga training is Hatha-based, through Integrative Yoga
Therapy (Heather Greaves). She has been inspired by several experienced
and gifted teachers, who encourage yoga accessibility for all, such
as: Heather Greaves (Body Therapies), Sheila Batacharya (Toronto)
and Bibi Hanh (Yoga Space).
In a yoga class with Sairupa you will experience a flow of postures
to alleviate stress, tone the body for strength and courage and
promote self-revitalization.
Sairupa's teaching approach focuses on the whole individual as she
creates a safe, comfortable and non-judgemental space, inviting
all people, of all abilities.
Sairupa feels blessed to be offering a class at BYC, and hopes
you will join her for a fun exploration of yoga.
Harmony+ Self-love = Action.
