I
began practicing yoga ten years ago as a way to prevent my migraines
from worsening. I was surprised to find that practicing yoga had an
all around positive effect on my life. My body felt better, my level
of energy increased, my mind became clearer, and I felt happier and
calmer than ever before. Wanting to learn more about how yoga worked,
I joined a teacher-training program and became certified to teach
yoga in 2000.
One of the things I love most about yoga is that it can be adapted
to suit the needs of the person practicing yoga. This is what Viniyoga
is all about. When I met Gary Kraftsow and was introduced to Viniyoga
seven years ago, I found a practice that felt like being home. I
completed his 2 year, 500 hour program and continue my studies in
this lineage.
